Any bill that deals with money is sent to the Office of Fiscal Analysis (OFA) for analysis.
The General Assembly needs to know what sort of financial impact the bill will have on the state, municipalities, citizens, businesses, and whoever else could be affected by the legislation.
- OFA includes this information in a fiscal note which they attach to the bill.
